Building Bridges at Hillel at Georgia Tech

Dozens of students gathered for Interfaith Shabbat at Georgia Tech, sharing blessings, traditions, and meaningful dialogue. “Interfaith Shabbat was an amazing opportunity to share the Judaism I love with friends who have other faiths and beliefs and learn about their customs,” shared Gabrielle Siegel, class of 2029.

By confidently sharing Jewish tradition while building bridges, students lived out Hillel’s mission of strong identity and open community.

Sisterhood Connection at Hillel UGA

Nearly 90 Sigma Delta Tau members joined a dozen Hillel at UGA alumnae for an intergenerational networking night. After hearing from a Terry College of Business speaker on effective networking, alumnae from 1999–2025 shared their career journeys and advice. Students then connected one-on-one with mentors who reflected their interests and aspirations.

The room was filled with ambition, wisdom, and sisterhood. More than professional development, the evening reflected Hillel’s mission in action: cultivating Jewish leadership, strengthening lifelong community, and empowering students to step confidently into their futures.

Bearing Witness: KSU Hillel Hosts Nachal Oz Delegation

KSU students recently welcomed a delegation from Nachal Oz to share firsthand accounts of October 7 and its aftermath. What unfolded was more than a speaker event. It was an evening of listening, reflection, and connection. “Hearing their experience was nothing short of surreal and emotional,” said Maor Bigio (KSU Class of 2029.)

As the delegation shared their stories, students felt the distance between campus and Israel narrow. “The speakers put us in the rooms with them,” said Daniel Perez, class of 2027. “It felt real.”

For many, the night carried both heartbreak and gratitude. “It’s impossible to put our appreciation into words,” added Evan Pollack, class of 2027.

The program strengthened students’ connection to Israel and reminded them that we are all part of a resilient global Jewish community.

Big Conversations with the Modern Jewish Pride Movement Founder

Hillels of Georgia gathered for an intimate evening with Ben Freeman to explore antisemitism, identity, and belonging. “I am so glad I got a chance to be here with all of you!” shared Will Shapiro, class of 2027.

The group engaged deeply with complex questions, including how Jews can feel uniquely marginalized even within other marginalized communities. Many described walking away with “a completely new way of looking at the subject with a whole new worldview.” Hillels of Georgia exists to create spaces for courageous, thoughtful Jewish conversation, and THIS was one of those moments.

When Harry Met Hillel

Students at SCAD took a midterm break with a screening of When Harry Met Sally, honoring late director Rob Reiner (Z"L). Programs like this do more than entertain. They create connection, offer relief during stressful seasons, and strengthen Jewish community in everyday ways.

Shabbat Wherever We Gather

Georgia College students brought Shabbat to "Tent City" Homecoming, holding services, blessing challah and grape juice, and lingering in conversation. “I enjoyed being around my friends and catching up with others,” shared one student.

Simple, meaningful moments like these are the heart of Hillel’s mission: creating welcoming spaces where Jewish students can pause, connect, and feel at home.
