Emory Hillel kicked off the new school year with a packed house, welcoming more than 300 students and family members for our Welcome Brunch. The energy was high as new and returning Eagles connected with friends, met Hillel staff, and got a first look at the Jewish community waiting for them on campus.

One of the most meaningful parts of the weekend was hearing from parents who could already see that their students had found a Jewish home at Emory.

That’s what Welcome Week is all about: making sure Jewish students arrive on campus knowing they already have a place to belong, people who know their names, and a community excited to welcome them in.

Bagel Break is back at Hillel at Georgia Tech, and students were clearly hungry for more than just bagels! While the weekly Tuesday gathering typically brings together around 30 students, more than 60 stopped by this week to catch up with friends and meet new people.

For many students, Bagel Break is their first introduction to Hillel. Its casual, drop-in atmosphere makes it an easy way to find community on a busy campus, while also giving student leaders opportunities to welcome their peers and share what’s happening at Hillel.

Senior, Orly Kornstein, shared, “Bagel Break allows a safe space for students to come talk to their Jewish friends, eat great food, study, and help each other with work. It’s a great environment and time for us to build community.”

KSU Hillel welcomed students back to campus with bagels and a chance to reconnect on the first day of classes. Returning regulars caught up after the summer, while new students had an easy way to meet Jewish peers and start finding their place in the Hillel community.

It was a simple but meaningful start to the semester: good food, familiar faces, and new connections. With the first Shabbat of the year just around the corner, KSU Hillel is ready for a year full of Jewish life and community.

The growing Georgia College Hillel community isn’t just bringing students together! We loved seeing so many Bobcat parents come out for our Parent Social to meet one another, connect, and learn more about the Jewish community their students are building in Milledgeville.

A huge thank you to Melanie and Jeremy Marks for opening their home and hosting such a wonderful evening. As Georgia College Hillel continues to grow, it’s exciting to see a community growing around our students, too.

Hillel UGA’s Dawgs for Israel kicked off the year around the bonfire with s’mores, roasted potatoes, and plenty of new connections. The first DFI gathering of the semester gave students a chance to reconnect, welcome new faces, and get excited about another year of Israel programming on campus.

“I was so excited to take part in the event and get to know the amazing students who are working on campus for Israel. It was a super meaningful event for me, and I am excited for the upcoming events this year!” shared Eden, Hillel UGA’s Israel Fellow.
