Elliot B. Karp, CEO of Hillels of Georgia is pleased to announce that Mara Zeichner, former Hillel UGA Director of Engagement & Wellness, has been appointed Assistant Campus Director for Hillel UGA.
Says CEO, Elliot B. Karp, "Throughout her time with Hillel Mara has shown dedication and creativity when it comes to the success of Hillel and our students. I am thrilled that she will be moving into the role of Assistant Director where I am sure her skills in programming and engagement will further advance Hillel UGA."
Mara has a long, rich history with Hillel. While an undergraduate student at UGA, Mara was an involved member of Hillel, leading Shabbat services, attending programs, and holding various leadership positions including President. Before becoming a part of the professional staff at Hillel UGA, Mara served as Engagement Associate for two years at the Hillel at Indiana University where she gained even more knowledge on what makes a successful Hillel. In 2014, she began her professional work at Hillel UGA serving as the Director of Engagement & Wellness. She looks forward to utilizing these years of Hillel knowledge to make Hillel UGA the best it can be.
"I am excited and ready for more growth through Hillel," says Mara. "I am looking forward to taking on more responsibilities on our professional team, continuing to engage students, and expanding our alumni engagement."
A Georgia native, Mara graduated from UGA with a BS in Child and Family Development. She has also received a certificate in experiential Jewish education from M2, The Institute for Experiential Jewish Education, and is a certified yoga instructor.
