Georgia Tech Hillel Appoints New Program Director


Hillel’s of Georgia is pleased to announce that Sydney Harlow has been appointed Program Director for Hillel at the Georgia Institute of Technology.


“I am really excited that Sydney will be joining our professional staff team at Hillel,” said Elliot B. Karp, CEO of Hillel of Georgia. “Sydney comes to Georgia Tech with a lot of great experience, passion and commitment to serving Jewish college students on campus. She became passionate about working in the Jewish community following her own Birthright Israel experience. We look forward to having her expand Hillel’s wide-range of activities at Georgia Tech.”


Sydney comes to Georgia Tech Hillel after having served as the Program Director for Gulf Coast Hillel based in Sarasota. She previously worked as the Engagement Associate at the Asbell Center for Jewish Life at Dickinson College. Sydney has led Birthright Israel trips and is a Birthright Israel Fellow. She is also a participant of Hillel International’s Israel Masterclass helping her to develop and hone her skills for Israel awareness, education and advocacy. She looks forward to bringing these experiences to the students at Georgia Tech.


“I want Georgia Tech Hillel to be a destination and ‘home away from home’ for Jewish students on campus,” said Sydney. “I want students considering Georgia Tech to know that there is a strong and vibrant Jewish community at Tech, and for incoming students to become part of our dynamic Jewish community on campus. I want to ensure that there are unlimited opportunities for Jewish students at Georgia Tech to connect with Judaism and the Jewish community in a way that is meaningful for them.”


Sydney is originally from Highland Park, Illinois and grew up in Miami. Sydney was an active Hillel student leader at Florida Gulf Coast University where she received her BS in Marine Science. She earned both an MS in Leadership with a focus in Organizational Leadership and an MBA from Norwich University.
