Director, Emory Hillel

Hillels of Georgia seeks a visionary, dynamic and strategic leader with proven organizational skills to lead Hillel at Emory University in Atlanta, as our Campus Director. Strategic Vision and Leadership

  • Set a vision and strategy for Jewish engagement and empowerment by inspiring students to develop their Jewish journeys and identities

  • Be a “Doogma” (role model) for Jewish life, living, learning, leadership, service and activism

  • Provide Israel awareness, education and advocacy and promote student connections with Israel

  • Maintain database for students, alumni, families and supporters

  • Provide professional guidance to Hillel staff and student leadership and nurture their development while promoting a culture of creativity and excellence including supervision of staff

  • Direct programming, activities, budgeting, fundraising and all aspects of Hillel operations

  • Develop and maintain relationships with other professionals serving students on campus including other student organizations, the University, Hillels of Georgia and Jewish communal partners to further collaborations benefiting Hillel

  • Commitment to work both independently and collaboratively with all partners and stakeholders


What You’ve Accomplished

  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant professional experience as a Hillel professional or Jewish communal professional, college student activities or young adult community

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus

Development Intern, Hillels of Georgia

Hillels of Georgia is seeking a diligent, highly motivated Development Intern to join our team for summer 2021. You will be assisting the Development Associate and the Director of Development and Marketing with data clean up, updating and maintaining contact profiles, speaking with universities, and other duties as needed. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary in order to be successful in this role.


Responsibilities include:

  • Working with our donor software, LittleGreenLight (LGL), to edit and update contact profiles as needed

  • Maintaining contact lists by means of ensuring contacts are appropriately tagged with constant contact list, communication tags, school tag, and class affiliation, if known

  • Updating and cleaning salutation and addressee fields in LGL for cleaner mail merge

  • Working to reduce duplicate accounts within LGL

  • Uploading all remaining attendance records for various colleges in Georgia

  • Speaking with local youth groups, synagogues, and high schools to get student college attendance lists 

  • Creating profiles for students in the class of 2025, as well as their parents and grandparents

  • Segmenting potential donors for Fiscal Year 2022

  • Other duties as needed


You must:

  • Be a current student at a 4-year college or university

  • Be highly organized and detail-oriented

  • Have a can-do attitude and excellent time management skills

  • Experience with LittleGreenLight not necessary but a plus

Marketing Intern, Hillels of Georgia

Hillels of Georgia is seeking a creative, organized Marketing Intern to join our team for summer 2021. You will be assisting the Development Associate and the Director of Development and Marketing with creating social media graphics, producing print pieces for the Hineni campaign, encouraging student engagement via TikTok, and other duties as needed. A knack for creativity and an understanding of social media platforms is necessary in order to be successful in this role.


Responsibilities include:

  • Creating Parent Appeal graphics and mailings and High Holiday mailings, which will sent out digitally and via post

  • Produce social media graphics and collateral for events such as Giving Tuesday, the High Holidays, and Annual Fund 2020, among other events

  • Create print pieces for the Hineni campaign

  • Generate content on TikTok to encourage student engagement on the platform

  • Follow up with unsubscribers and management of those opting to resubscribe to Hillel's email lists

  • Other duties as needed


You must:

  • Be a current student at a 4-year college or university

  • Knowledge of Canva or another graphic design platform

  • An understanding of TikTok, Instagram and Facebook and how to use the platforms to encourage student, parent and donor engagement

  • Have great time management skills, understanding of social media, and a knack for creativity

A Digital Ambassador is someone who feels passionate about Israel and uses social media to spread fascinating stories about great things happening in Israel. Ambassadors choose their own focus area (such as health or technology) and promote ISRAEL21c’s stories and videos to various online communities and influences. Ongoing training in the field of social media strategy and digital outreach is provided to the Ambassadors every week. This paid internship involves a manageable two-hour time commitment each week, including a weekly 30-minute phone call with other Ambassadors.
