Knead to Know: Repro Shabbat at Hillel UGA

At Hillel UGA, students gathered to prepare challahs for Repro Shabbat, an initiative organized by the National Council of Jewish Women that frames reproductive freedom as a Jewish value. Each year, hundreds of Jewish communities across the country mark this Shabbat as an opportunity to explore reproductive freedom through a Jewish lens, grounding contemporary conversations in Torah, tradition, and lived experience.

Led by Hillel UGA’s student Tzedek Committee, the evening wove together ritual, text study, and thoughtful dialogue. Between dustings of flour and laughter around the mixer, programs like Repro Shabbat invite students to experience Judaism not as abstract or distant, but as a living framework that speaks directly to the moral and personal issues of our time.
