Georgia College Hillel Appoints New Hillel Adviser

Elliot B. Karp, CEO of Hillels of Georgia, is pleased to announce the appointment of Sophie Rosen to Hillel Adviser at Georgia College Hillel. "As the first Hillel professional hired exclusively to serve Georgia College Hillel, I am excited for the programming expertise, individual attention, and passion for Judaism and Israel that Sophie will bring to the students at this quickly growing Hillel," says CEO, Elliot B. Karp.

Sophie is a recent graduate of the University of Georgia where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economic and was an active member of Hillel UGA. During this time, she developed a particular interest in Israel education and advocacy serving in a number of leadership roles with Dawgs for Israel, Hillel's group for all those who love Israel and want to learn more about Israeli culture and politics.

After three educational, fact finding trips to Israel including Birthright, and a prestigious position as Content Writer for Wazimo Media in Tel Aviv, Sophie's love for Israel was solidified and she was encouraged to share what she learned through these experiences with her communities in the United States.

A Georgia native, Sophie is excited to be continuing her work with the Jewish community in Georgia. Says Sophie, "Hillel played such an important role during my time as a college student. It was a place for me to feel at home and connected with my Jewish roots. I can only hope to share the same sense of culture, community and faith with the Georgia College Hillel." Sophie continues, "Hillel at Georgia College is full of potential. The students are incredibly passionate and so excited to expand opportunities for Judaism on campus. I can't wait to see how the Jewish community on campus develops this year."
