COVID-19 is affecting every corner of college campuses — from libraries to fall football games to orchestra.
That includes religious life and campus ministries.
On Thursday’s special edition of “Closer Look,” host Rose Scott spoke with faith leaders and students at institutions of higher learning throughout the region.
First, the Rev. Dr. Neichelle Guidry, dean of Sisters Chapel and director of the WISDOM Center at Spelman College, shares how her campus ministry is rethinking Sunday services and the importance of her personal faith during this time.
Then, Dema Mohammad Salih, president of the Muslim Student Association at the University of Georgia, describes how social-distancing guidelines have changed Friday prayers.
And finally, a conversation with Hillels of Georgia CEO Elliot Karp, who talks about how the campus ministry is reaching out to students during the upcoming Jewish High Holiday season.
Guests:
The Rev. Dr. Neichelle Guidry, dean of Sisters Chapel and director of the WISDOM Center at Spelman College
Dema Mohammad Salih, president of the Muslim Student Association at the University of Georgia
Hillels of Georgia CEO Elliot Karp
