Emory Mensch of the Week: Sam Weinstein

ree

Introducing Sam Weinstein, the Emory Mensch of the Week! Sam is on the Shabbat Committee at Hillel and is majoring in Anthropology and Human Biology, minoring in Ethics, and is on a pre-med track. Learn more about him below!

What is your favorite holiday or tradition?

My favorite Hillel tradition is certainly Friday Night Shabbat. Having only recently begun regularly celebrating Shabbat, I have found great joy in gathering friends, eating dinner, drinking wine, and finally learning to relax on the day of rest.

What is your favorite memory at Hillel?

My favorite thing about Hillel at Emory is walking into the Marcus Hillel Center, and consistently being greeted by an incredible community of people that I’ve learned will always be there for you.

What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

Something others would be surprised to learn about me is I wrestled competitively for 7 years.
