Wayne Silverman, PhD,Executive Director As the Executive Director at Hillels of Georgia, Wayne oversees all campus hillels and works closely with a volunteer Board of Directors who feels passionate about furthering the success of Hillels of Georgia. Hillel's mission is to enrich the lives of Jewish students in a manner that is universally human and distinctively Jewish adding value to each campus we are active. I'm delighted to be part of this important enterprise. Wayne arrived at Hillels of Georgia in July of 2007. He was born in Chicago and has lived in Australia, North Carolina and Texas. Wayne earned his PhD in College Administration at the University of Texas at Austin and has had a diverse career path with organizations such as: American Botanical Council (ABC), the Jewish Federation of Austin, and Congregation Kol Halev where he was a founder. Wayne has been very involved with the Kerrville Folk Festival and the Texas Folk Music Foundation. He and his wife Laura enjoy living in Decatur with their two dogs, cooking and disc golf. |

Marilyn Hass, Internal Operations Manager This is Marilyn’s 16th year working at Hillels of Georgia as Internal Operations Manager. A native New Yorker, Marilyn moved from Syosset, Long Island to Atlanta, Georgia 16 years ago with her husband Harvey. Marilyn has two sons. Steven is an investment banker and lives in New York City, and David is a computer engineer who resides in California. Working at Hillels of Georgia helped make the transition from New York an easy one. Hillel became her family. Before moving to Atlanta, Marilyn worked as a Special Event Coordinator for Variety Pre-Schooler’s Workshop, a school for children with special needs. In Marilyn’s free time, she reads and loves to go to the movies. You will always find Marilyn and her husband every weekend at Goldberg’s in Dunwoody around brunch time. |

Judy Abraham, Bookkeeper Judy has been a resident of Atlanta since 1987 (practically a native!) and has been working at Hillels of Georgia since 2002. Most of her work experience prior to coming to us was in the IT area, but all her volunteer work was (and still is) bookkeeping and accounting related, which prepared her for the job she does at Hillel. Despite many years of working with volunteers in many different capacities, she has found the Hillels of Georgia volunteers to be the best she has ever encountered – so thanks to all of you who have helped to make her job so much easier. |
