Capital Campaign

A small dedicated cadre of volunteers has been working diligently to raise the necessary funds –$9.2 million – for the Marcus Hillel Center at Emory University. The project was launched by visionary philanthropist Bernie Marcus and his challenge grant of $3 million from the Billi and Bernie Marcus Foundation, along with $2 million from the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta’s Community Capital Campaign held in 1997. Capital campaign co-chairs Mike Leven and Jody Franco inspired more than 200 other individuals to meet the challenge. These funds will provide for the land, construction, furnishings, and a $2 million endowment to support the ongoing operation of the facility.

Hillels of Georgia professionals and volunteers are available to discuss your participation in the Marcus Hillel Center. Please call Julia Katz, Director of Development, or Michael Rabkin, Director of Hillel at Emory, or Wayne Silverman, Executive Director at (404) 963-2548.
